Whether you’re new to Eagle Landing or you’ve been living in apartments in Daytona or months, we think you’ll find some helpful decorating tips in this week’s blog! Our apartments are luxurious, but it’s up to you to add your own style. We’ve got some rules that you can follow so you don’t get off track, but feel free to break all the design rules when decorating your new place!
Decorating an apartment is a lot different than decorating a house. In a house, you can pretty much do whatever you want with the space you have. In an apartment, your goal should be to maximize the limited amount of space. You want to choose patterns, colors and furniture pieces that make your space seem open, bright and airy. Even if you’re going for a cozy, warm look, you should always try to maximize the space you’re working with.
Without further delay, let’s get ot the list of tips! When you’re done reading this week’s post, please be sure to share it with your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Daytona Beach.
Tip #1 — Add mirrors whenever possible
Mirrors can do wonders for brightening up a room, as they reflect light into the corners that normally stay dark. Mirrors also work as a kind of optical illusion to make your rooms seem bigger. We recommend getting creative with your mirrors. Get a bunch of small mirrors and arrange them in a pattern on the wall, or find some fancy frames for your large, rectangular mirrors.
Tip #2 — Remember to buy rugs
Rugs do wonders for apartments. If you’re trying to create seperate spaces in your home, you should get a rug for each space. Throw one under your dining room table, and another one under your couch. Rugs subtly remind you that each area of your home is a separate entity. A rug can be a foundation for the look of a room. If your living room has a black rug, the rest of the decor should match. If you have a red rug in your bedroom, that color should guide the rest of your design design decisions for that room.
Tip #3 — Put your knick-knacks in storage
You know those little things your grandma gets you when she travels, or the weird souvenirs you’ve accumulated over the years? Those things probably have tons of sentimental value, but that doesn’t mean they need to be put on display in your apartment. The more open surface area you have, the better your apartment will look. The more knick-knacks you have laying all over your end tables and dressers, the more cluttered it will look.
We know it will be hard to put away that random paper weight that you picked up in San Francisco five years ago, but your apartment will look way better once you do.
Those are all the decorating tips we’ve got for you this week, residents!
